Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza

Decided to try something new on my pizza this time. I love Chicken Bacon Ranch subs and I have seen people adapting this to pizza so I decided to give it a shot.

My version is not very complex. I sautéed some chicken breast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. I sliced it into thin strips and mixed it with about 1/4 of a cup of ranch dressing (Hidden Valley is the best as far as i'm concerned). Top a standard pizza dough with the mixture, about 8oz. of mozzarella cheese, chopped bacon (about 3 strips worth or substitute a good amount of packaged bacon bits), sliced red onion, and thinly sliced jalapeno (don't worry, it won't be that spicy after it gets baked). I also threw some roasted garlic cloves on it. I'll do a post on the roasted garlic in the near future, it's a very simple process and the results are so worth it. The pie took a bit longer than a standard pizza on my stone for some reason, could be the fact that I had baked off another pizza before it but the results were still pretty good. The crust browned nicely and it was a prefect balance of crispy and chewy. A tip here would be to let it cool longer than you would a standard pizza, the ranch dressing needs a little time to set up and create a nice, cohesive sauce on the dough.
